A typical training session lasts for an hour. Some people turn up before the scheduled start time to perform extra warm-up or mobility work; however there is no requirement to turn up early, with most people arriving punctually 5 minutes prior to start time. The first 5-10 minutes is allocated to a self-paced warm-up. Then the coach will give a detailed description and movement demonstration of today’s strength component. You will then break off and complete the allocated movements in small groups of 2 or 3. You will be given technique and movement corrections throughout the strength session. The coach will then detail today’s WOD, discussing movement technique and workout strategy. You will be given a short time to practice and warm up with the WOD movements, then the coach calls “3-2-1-go” and the workout is underway. After everyone is finished the workout, there is a short debrief and after the gear is put away, the session finishes with a self-paced cool down.

Yes. Our policy is that all new members, experienced or not must complete both introductory classes for their own safety and wellbeing. These classes will also provide some time for our coaches to get to know you and your experience.
Then you have come to the right place, getting people fit is what we do! It doesn’t matter how fit you are. Crossfit Origin workouts cam be scaled to suit your current fitness level and experience.
We encrouarge all new members to come with a positive attitude and willingness to be taught. The rest takes care of itself over time. If we think that you require some special attention to kick start your training (ie you are injured, de-conditioned or have mobility/stability issues) we will discuss the best way to bring you up to speed in a safe and controlled way.
Fitness is a journey and different for everybody. Our community is comprised of competitive athletes, former athletes, working professionals, people that had never stepped foot into a gym and people with physical ailments. We will do everything in our power to
help you improve your health and wellbeing.
CrossFit is about variance and adaptation. We “program” our workouts for General Physical Preparedness, or GPP. We don’t have leg days, back- and bi- days, or cardio days. We believe the body is a whole system, and strengthen it as a whole. Our coaches also give you basic education in diet and nutrition. We believe that nutrition is the foundation of health and fitness and know that how we feed our bodies determines how quickly we achieve the results we want. So for you, this means you’re a better runner than the best weightlifter, a better lifter than the best marathoner, and generally physically prepared for anything in your everyday life. Plus you’ll live in a healthy body with a strong, lean physique. The best part is that every workout is led by a qualified coach and you’re joined by like-minded people who want to be and feel better.
You will also become part of a supportive community of people. Members will know your name! They will say hello and they will help you get the job done.
At CrossFit Origin, our classes are programmed specifically to ensure that you’re safe and having fun the entire time. Our coaches preach safety and technique above all else, and they will work with you to ensure you only do what you feel ready to do.
Hopefully you will feel great from taking part and experiencing a training session within a CrossFit community. You will almost certainly have a better understanding of how classes are run and the method behind what we do and how we do it. It’s likely you will have learned new things and you may be a little bit sore!
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask via email, Facebook or in person with one of our friendly coaches.
